What is the South Carolina Birth Outcomes Initiative?

South Carolina Birth Outcomes Initiative (SCBOI) is an effort by the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS), South Carolina Hospital Association, Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina, South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC), March of Dimes and over 100 stakeholders to improve the health outcomes for all moms and babies. Who can join SCBOI, and how do I join?

SCBOI is open to any and all participants who are interested in contributing to the statewide conversation to help moms and babies in South Carolina. All you need to do to participate is email scboi@scdhhs.gov to get added to the email list.

What are the workgroups and how can I join?  

Workgroups meet once a month to discuss relevant issues within SC. You can see our list of workgroups on the Workgroups page. To join a workgroup you can email scboi@scdhhs.gov or at the time of the meeting, go to the workgroup page and click on the link to join.
